Being
a stepmom can be a confusing, scary and sometimes daunting
role. The mission of Stepmom Station is to offer information,
and a place to comfortably and privately discuss the issues
that make your role as a stepmom challenging, rewarding, difficult,
fun, frightening, exciting, frustrating and/or exhausting.
Once you've joined the Station you may find friends that will
last a lifetime-friends who truly understand your crazy life
as a stepmom, because they live it.
The Station
was originally founded by two stepmoms who wanted to create
a warm community of women who would be there to support one
another-to cheer one another's successes; to encourage each
other as stepmothers and second wives to look at ourselves-how
we parent in our families and how our blended family impacts
us in our many roles as mothers, partners, daughters, friends,
coworkers and community members.

Gina
Shuster, Owner of Stepmom Station
Gina
and her husband married in September, 2000. Together
they have two sons, 10 and 7. Gina works from her
home, located in New Jersey.
Gina's
husband has joint custody of his 16 year old daughter.
The schedule itself can be challenging, but otherwise,
Gina gets along well with her stepdaughter's mom,
which brings less conflict than many stepmoms have.
Although
Gina has a relatively good situation, she has still found
that life in a blended family definitely has challenges.
Her sons not getting to see their sister every day, nor
she them; dealing with planning things; adjustments to different
parenting styles in each home, etc.
Gina
has been active in online communities since 1997 and spent
3 years as administrator of a support board.

The
Administrative Team
Stepmom Station
is administered by a team of Stepmoms (sorry, fellas, no men allowed!).
Additionally, a group of over 30 moderators, all stepmoms/second
wives, are available for questions, guidance and additional support.

Join
us at the Station, a web-based community owned and operated
entirely by women who are stepmothers, for women who
are stepmothers.
